3.27 (수) "시기, 미움, 배척, 두려움, 방관" (마가복음 14:53-72)
“Envy, Hatred, Rejection, Fear, Neglect” (Mark 14:53-72)

오늘 본문에는 여러 부류의 사람들이 등장합니다.
대제사장, 장로, 율법학자, 베드로, 거짓증인, 하인, 군중들...
Various types of people come out in today’s text: high priests, elders, teachers of the law, Peter, false witnesses, servants, and the crowd.

그런데 그들의 마음 속에는 예수를 십자가에 못박아 죽이려는 부정적인 감정들로 가득해져 있었습니다.
'시기심, 증오심, 거부감, 두려움, 책임회피, 죄책감...'
And their hearts were filled with negative emotions that made them want to crucify Jesus and kill Him. Some of these can be seen as envy, hatred, rejection, fear, avoidance of responsibility, and guilt.

이런 부정적인 감정들 때문에 사람들은 예수님의 십자가 길을 따라가지 못하고 주님을 부인하고 말았습니다.
마음의 감정에서 실패할 때, 결국 영혼의 믿음에서도 실패하고 말았던 것입니다.
Because of these negative feelings, people were unable to follow Jesus' path to the cross and ended up denying Him.
They failed to keep their emotions pure. As a result, they ultimately couldn’t keep their faith.

그리고 중요한 것은, 지금 우리들의 마음 속에도 이런 부정적인 감정들이 영향을 주고 있다는 사실입니다.
그런 불필요한 감정들 때문에 하나님의 말씀과 사명에 집중하지 못하고 때로는 자포자기 할 수도 있습니다.
And the important thing to note is that these negative emotions are affecting our hearts and minds right now.
Because of such unnecessary feelings, we cannot focus on God's Word and His mission, and sometimes we may even give up.

그렇다면 유대교 종교 지도자들은 왜 그토록 예수님을 배척할 뿐 아니라 죽일정도로 미워했을까요?
자신들의 기득권을 잃어버리지 않으려는 교만과 탐욕 때문이었을 것입니다. 그래서 불안하고 시기했던 것입니다.
So why did the Jewish religious leaders not only reject Jesus but also hate Him to the point of killing Him?
It may have been due to pride and greed. They did not want to lose their vested rights, so they felt anxious and jealous.

인류 최초의 살인자였던 가인도 동생 아벨에 대한 질투가 미움이 되었고, 그 미움이 결국 살인으로 이어졌던 것을 알 수 있습니다.
하나님께서는 미움으로 가득한 가인이 살인을 저지르기 전에 다음과 같이 미리 경고하셨습니다.
(창 4:7b) ... 죄가 너의 문에 도사리고 앉아서, 너를 지배하려고 한다. 너는 그 죄를 잘 다스려야 한다.
We can see that Cain, mankind's first ever murderer, grew jealous of his younger brother, Abel. Then the jealousy grew to hatred, and it ultimately led to murder.
When Cain was filled with contempt, God gave him a warning.  
(Genesis 4:7b) ... sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.

사도 바울도 경고했습니다.
(야고보서 1:15) 욕심이 잉태하면 죄를 낳고, 죄가 자라면 죽음을 낳습니다.
Apostle James also gave this warning:
(James 1:15) Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

나도 모르는 사이에 내 마음 속에도 하나님과 상관 없는 부정적인 감정들이 생겨서 믿음을 방해할 수 있습니다.
그래서 우리는 매일 예수님의 마음, 성령의 생각을 달라고 기도하는 것입니다.
Without realizing it, negative emotions that have nothing to do with God may arise in our hearts, hindering our faith.
That is why we pray every day for our minds to be filled with the things of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
